ENTERPRISES - Development plans

BUSINESSES - The development plans INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS. LUCANO OIL.

Li.Bo. è un’azienda nata in provincia di Potenza che opera nel settore delle forniture ma cresce diversificando.

Li.Bo's beginnings are almost pioneering, one of those companies born and evolved thanks to the intuition of the entrepreneur. Specifically, everything started with a business agency to which, a few years later, was added a hardware store in Viggiano (in the province of Potenza), in the heart of Basilicata. That region, in the 2000s, became one of the most valuable territories in petrochemicals, and Renato Bocca developed his intuition: to create a service and supply company.

This is how Li.Bo. a company established in 1988 was born, which now operates in the domestic and international market of industrial and electro-instrumental supplies, a supplier to the largest companies in the Oil&Gas industry.

"In the 2000s,"  - Renato Bocca recalls - "the arrival of Eni represented a change of pace for the region. In Basilicata there was no reality to support that kind of activity, I thought of creating it but always privileging the territory. Even today, that the group has grown and we work with Snam, Enel, Total, and many other big players, we privilege Basilicata in the training and selection of personnel, in the search for partners, and in the possibility of creating induced activity."

Diversification

Over the years, the native sector has also been successfully joined by the environmental, waterworks, energy, water purification, pharmaceutical, food, and aviation sectors.

"Our role is that of procurement,"  - explains Roberto Bocca, general manager of Li.Bo - "We are in charge of supporting customers' business with supplies of materials that follow international Qhse (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) standards, researching and selecting reliable and qualified producers, both in the local and international markets, guaranteeing the reduction of our customers' delivery times and inventory costs. It is an activity that we started with petrochemicals but today we are engaged in many other sectors. The 2022 turnover has reached 20 million euros: 40 percent comes from petrochemicals and as much from water purification and aqueducts."

Not only Basilicata, however: Li.Bo. is present in all Italian areas with a vocation for oil and gas, in Sicily in Gela and Priolo and then also in Ravenna. In all, the group has 9 locations and 10 thousand square meters of covered warehouses, and for the past few years exports have begun to bear fruit.

"We have gone from 5 to 20 percent of turnover in a few years," - explains Roberto Bocca -. Abroad is taking on an important role for us: we have had significant orders in Congo, Algeria, Nigeria, Libya. We have strengthened our network in the most strategic countries for our business and we are beginning to reap the benefits of this work."

The future

The lucanian group, however, constantly diversifies: the Li.Bo. Safety, produces and sells workwear, personal protective equipment, firefighting equipment. Also growing fast in the group is the "Brico for all" division.

"It is a retail network,"  - explains Renato Bocca - "that deals with wholesale and retail trade in hardware; distributes tools and industrial equipment; and assists customers with engineering and maintenance services regarding the installation and use of the products themselves. The very wide range of products and services offered should satisfy all market demands in the various product sectors, so that we have a single reliable interlocutor for all operational and production needs."

But Li.Bo. is already looking to the future and to new areas in which to try its hand: "The near future will see us working in pharmaceuticals and food," the general manager announces, "these are sectors that have very similar dynamics in industrial instrumentation to what we know. We have also started working in the naval sector for all plant engineering and the engine department.
In addition, we will still invest in technological innovation: in recent years we have created an ecommerce division that is becoming increasingly strategic for our procurement business.
Highly computerized warehouses ensure perfect inventory management. A particular strong point is the wide range of items in stock for prompt delivery, which allows rapid order fulfillment, fast delivery and a reduction in end-user warehouse costs".
